That said, Arsenal haven’t given up scouting young attacking talent just yet, as Brabants Dagblad in Holland explain on Monday morning.
The Dutch newspaper state the Premier League club have been keeping a keen eye on young Uruguayan Gaston Pereiro recently, as he scored the winner for PSV over the weekend after coming off the bench for the last 14 minutes of the game.
The London side aren’t the only ones interested, with Porto in Portugal also sending regular staff members to keep an eye on his progression, but the player isn’t up for a move just yet.
Speaking to BD, he said: “For my development, I think it’s best I definitely stay in Eindhoven for another year.”
At 21 years of age, the winger has a bright future ahead of him, as demonstrated by his 14 goals in 39 appearances last season for the Dutch club following a £6m from Nacional in his home country.
