On June 29th, AS reported Mikel Arteta is driving Arsenal interest in Marco Asensio this summer.

Two days later, we carried a report from Sport, who explained the Gunners love the Real Madrid player.

Asensio’s contract expires in 2023 and it seems like his future will be away from the Bernabéu as he’s not received a firm renewal proposal from Real Madrid so far.

That’s according to AS on Wednesday, who state the Spain international’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is clear that the solution for his client is a ‘way out’ of Real Madrid.

Los Blancos, for their part, consider the 26-year-old as one of the players who ‘can leave’ them in the ongoing window.

At the moment, the super-agent is waiting ‘for the market to really start’, to see the ‘real candidates’, that want to take the former Mallorca man.

Arsenal are tagged as the newspaper states that until now, the north London club and Milan have been the clubs mentioned the most when it comes to Asensio. That’s the only piece of information AS have on Arsenal.
