Viktor Gyökeres’ impressive performances in his debut season at Sporting have seen him be linked with a move to Arsenal for the past few months.

In December, O Jogo reported Mikel Arteta is leading the Gunners’ pursuit of the striker. The north London club’s interest was backed up in Sweden by Fotbolldirekt earlier this month.

AC Milan have also included the 25-year-old in their target list and will face a challenge from Arsenal to secure his services, according to MilanLive.it.

Arteta currently has Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as his two recognised strikers, and the two have collectively made 24 league starts this season.

The Serie A side are also looking to sign a new No.9 in the summer and have included the Sporting star in the list. They could face competition from the north London club, who have ‘decisively landed’ on Gyökeres.

It’s further claimed the Sweden international is a ‘big target’ for the Premier League side and his impressive statistics have attracted their attention. The frontman has managed 33 goals and 13 assists from 38 games this season.

This seems to have convinced Arsenal as the report states they are ready to put a €100m bid on the table for him.

MilanLive.it claim the Rossoneri can count on Zlatan Ibrahimović to try and convince his compatriot, but they won’t be able to reach the fee that Arsenal can offer.
