Arsenal are considering a move to sign Brahim Díaz in the summer. He’s currently on loan from Real Madrid at AC Milan, who have an option to make his deal permanent. The La Liga side also have a buyback option.
Sport Mediaset explain the Rossoneri and Los Blancos’ plans for the attacking midfielder and they mention Arsenal interest in him.
The Serie A side are working to buy the 23-year-old from the Champions League winners for €22m, while Carlo Ancelotti’s side have a buyback option set at €26-27m.
Díaz has managed six goals and three assists from 32 games this season and his desire is to continue to be part of the Italian club’s project. Milan chiefs Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will use this to ask for a discount from Real Madrid or request another loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Real Madrid, for their part, could consider bringing the ex-Manchester City man back to the club, either to include him in their squad next season or cash in from his sale in the summer. Arsenal remain an option for the latter as they are looking to bring him to the Premier League.
On March 23rd, Corriere dello Sport stated Mikel Arteta’s side want to present an offer for the player, without mentioning any figures. Sport Mediaset now state the Gunners would be ‘ready to invest’ over €30m to sign Díaz.
Due to the Spaniard’s desire to continue at Milan, Arsenal would have to convince him to join them in the summer.
The battle has just begun and Milan’s chances of retaining Díaz will depend a lot on them qualifying for the Champions League next season. They are currently third, a point ahead of Inter Milan and AS Roma, who are in the fourth and fifth spot respectively.
