Arsenal ‘above all’ in race for centre-back – Club see Gunners’ competition as ‘downside’

Arsenal continue to be seen as one of the favourites for the signing of Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth.

The Gunners’ interest in the 25-year-old has already been reported by the English media, but it’s interesting that the Italian press highlights this chase as well.

Outlet Tuttosport today writes about Juventus’ desire to sign the player, but names Arsenal as one of the clubs who are ‘above all’ in the battle for him.

The Gunners are said to be along with Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool in the fight for the signing, as well as Milan, and that’s said to be a ‘downside’ for Juventus.

Kelly’s contract with Bournemouth expires at the end of the season, and that’s why such a big race for him is expected in the coming months, as he could be very cheap to buy in January or even available on a free should a club be patient enough to wait that long.

There’s another mention to Arsenal in that story, and that’s regarding Thomas Partey, who’s also a target for Juventus.

The midfielder, however, is claimed to desire a move back to Atletico Madrid. And as a domino effect, the Bianconeri could end up landing Rodrigo De Paul in the end.
