Arseanl looked at Iván Fresneda in the winter market and continue to be in the picture to sign the Real Valladolid star in the summer.
According to Bild, the Gunners and Borussia Dortmund want to secure the right-back’s services.
The Bundesliga side are looking to cut ties with Thomas Meunier after this season and their sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, has identified the 18-year-old as a target to replace him. He has a contract until 2025 and is worth around €20m.
BVB must be wary about Arsenal, who are also in the mix for Fresneda. It’s claimed Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘pushing for a transfer’ and could also ‘spend significantly more money’, to sign the player. This is a ‘problem’ for Dortmund.
Bild don’t mention the fee Dortmund or the north London club could offer to the La Liga side to acquire the Spain U19 international.
Back in March, the fullback admitted he’s “proud” about the reports linking him to Arsenal and other clubs.
Fresneda has made 21 appearances for Valladolid this season.
