Earlier on Monday, we covered claims explaining that it would be difficult for Fenerbahçe to sign Arsenal’s Jorginho before the end of their transfer window.
This shuts on September 15th, meaning they have time to get a deal done, although they wanted to get it done ahead of that so they could register him in their squad for the Conference League.
That won’t be happening, though, as his agent, João Santos, has made it very clear to TuttoMercatoWeb that Jorginho is not leaving Arsenal.
Asked about a potential move to Turkey, he said: “Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, on the Premier League and the Champions League. He will not go to Fenerbahçe.”
That should put an end to those rumours, especially with the Turkish side trying to get something done by the end of the day, and with Arsenal putting a hefty price tag on his back.
The problem in all this is the lack of minutes handed to the Italy international these days by Mikel Arteta, as he has only stepped on a pitch for 18 minutes in three Premier League appearances to date.
If that continues between now and the January transfer window, we will certainly see more rumours emerge in the coming months.
