Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães should be fit for the Copa América, the Brazilian media now says.
In the past few days, the centre-back had been seen wearing an arm sling, including when he was filmed going to a Corinthians match.
However, according to Globo Esporte, the player is having a successful recovery and is expected to be available already for the friendly against Mexico on June 8.
Gabriel Magalhães got injured in Arsenal’s match against Everton, in the final fixture of the Premier League, complaining about pain in his right shoulder.
Tests in London said that was only a mild dislocation, and that’s when the sling was recommended, with Gunners doctor Zafar Iqbal telling the Brazilian national team that the injury wasn’t serious.
Magalhães has spent the last ten days treating the issue in São Paulo. He seems fine now, but is still set to have further tests with the national team in Orlando on Thursday.
The Arsenal defender will be fighting for a starting place in Brazil’s team, with his first chance to win an international tournament.
