Well, despite claims that Nicolas Pépé was on his way to Besiktas, it’s actually Trabzonspor who will be the ones welcoming the Arsenal flop.

The news comes from Turkey itself, where Yağız Sabuncuoğlu brings the latest for Sports Digitale, taking to Twitter to deliver it.

He explains that the Arsenal forward, who has been looking for a way out from the Emirates all summer, has finally ‘reached an agreement’ with the Turkish side regarding a move.

Now, there is the issue of freeing himself from the Gunners, with the firm belief that this will be completed via the termination of his contract.

Sabuncuoğlu explains that ‘as soon as he terminates’ his deal with Arsenal, ‘a private plane will be sent’ to London by the Turkish side to facilitate the Ivory Coast international’s travels to his new country of work.

Pépé never lived up to his huge price tag when he was bough for €80m by the London club from Lille, and spent last season on loan at OGC Nice, where he failed to get his career back on track.

He will now likely leave Arsenal on a free, bringing an end to a few years of relative misery in England, where he will be wondering what could have been.
