Cedric Soares played the full match on Sunday as Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest.
The 30-year-old didn’t exactly cover himself in glory during the match, and has been the subject of criticism. He’s only played 574 minutes of football so far this season, and it’s clear he isn’t a key player for Mikel Arteta.
A move in January has repeatedly been rumoured, and in Spain it’s claimed the fullback has been offered to Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s side haven’t had a settled quartet of fullback options for a while, hit by injuries and form. The departure of Kieran Trippier to Newcastle United last week has only served to make the situation worse.
Spanish newspaper AS report that Cedric Soares ‘has been offered’ to Atletico Madrid, for a move in the winter market.
The transfer would be on the basis of a loan switch now, with the deal having a purchase option in the summer.
However, AS say the player isn’t a priority for Atletico right now, with them having other options for a signing.
