Over the course of the January transfer window, Juventus signed Tiago Djaló and Carlos Alcaraz, two targets Cristiano Giuntoli had been following for years when at Naples before his switch to Turin.
With this in mind, Tutto Juve have an article on some of the other names that the director of football had been following, running it as an exclusive, and it includes an Arsenal player.
That man is William Saliba, who was a target for many clubs in his early days with the Gunners, since Mikel Arteta was reluctant to use him, deeming him too fresh to be of use at the time.
That has since changed, since the Frenchman is one of the key figures at Arsenal these days, scoring in the 6-0 win against West Ham at the weekend.
That’s why he is now ‘unreachable’ for Juventus, as his transfer value has risen ‘dramatically’ over the past few years following his success at the Emirates.
They do add the caveat that a ‘big sale’ could give the club the money to try and lure the player away from Arsenal, but even then, we highly doubt Saliba would be tempted by the move, considering the upwards trajectory the Gunners are on these days.
