Juventus could consider signing Arsenal’s Jorginho in January, according to Calciomercato.
At the start of this year, the 31-year-old arrived at the north London club and signed a deal until 2024 with an option for another season.
Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli knows the Arsenal player well from their time at Napoli.
It’s claimed the Old Lady aren’t in favour of signing players who are in their 30s but could change their stance for the midfielder, who has ‘always been in Juventus’ sights’.
The report states a potential deal in the winter market will depend on Mikel Arteta’s side releasing him or if the transfer is ‘almost free of charge’.
The latter may be related to a free loan deal, and if the Gunners were to agree to any of those conditions, the outlet states he would be ‘an opportunity worth trying to seize’ for the Serie A side.
The Brazil-born Italy international has made eight appearances this season and that includes only one league start, which came in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester City.
Since Jorginho has struggled for a prominent role under Arteta, Calciomercato say ‘he can go’, likely in January. There’s no mention of Arsenal’s stance on the possibility of letting him leave before the end of this season.
