In the past couple of days, we’ve seen Radio Guaiba journalist Rafael Pfeiffer reporting Arsenal’s interest in Grêmio midfielder Bitello.
It was claimed the Gunners watched the player in action against Botafogo at the weekend, and would now scout him again in the match versus Bahia on Wednesday evening.
Now as outlet Correio do Povo shows up to cover the story, they say Arsenal are actually moving seriously for the signing.
The outlet confirms that the Gunners have been sending representatives to watch Bitello, and adds that club officials, who are in Porto Alegre, will move for the transfer.
Arsenal representatives are in Brazil to ‘analyse and send an offer’, and the ‘expectation’ is that the official document will be sent in the coming days.
Correio do Povo take Pfeiffer’s claims saying Grêmio’s request is €10m, and adds that Arsenal are expected to reach that amount.
Those are pretty strong claims, and even though the Gunners’ chase is still to be reported by the biggest sports outlets in Brazil, this story is certainly something to keep an eye on.
