Arsenal are interested in Grêmio youngster Lucas Kawan, according to reports from Brazil.
The news is brought by Band journalist Kaliel Doeneles, who claims that ‘besides the City Group’, the Gunners are also following the fullback.
There’s no big information on Arsenal’s pursuit for now, with the story only claiming Mikel Arteta’s side are ‘observing’ the player.
It’s also pointed out that he has a contract with Grêmio until 2025.
It’s no secret the Gunners have been doing a lot of scouting job in Brazil, especially after Edu Gaspar became a director at the club, so Lucas Kawan should just be one of the many targets the London side have in a list.
The 19-year-old was recently promoted to Grêmio’s first team, and following what he’s shown at the youth ranks, there’s big request from the fans to see him playing among the professionals.
For now, there’s no information on how much the Brazilian club would demand to let the youngster go.
It even sounds too early to talk about that now, since it’s not yet clear whether Arsenal will submit a bid for him.
