Newcastle United seem to have joined Arsenal in the race for AC Milan youngster Francesco Camarda.
The striker, who recently turned 16, is now allowed to sign his first professional contract, and several clubs are said to be watching his situation.
As Calciomercato features a fresh story on Camarda, they say Arsenal and Newcastle are some of those who are ‘ready to offer’ him a technical project.
The English clubs’ idea would be to have the youngster in their first team ‘within two years’, and those approaches are said to be ‘real and concrete’.
It’s just worth pointing out that Camarda can’t move to England until he turns 18, so that’s something those clubs would need to sort.
Arsenal’s interest in the youngster isn’t new, as a few stories from the Italian press this month have been claiming that the Gunners made contact and are pressing for the signing.
Now Newcastle’s chase is being reported for the first time, as it seems the whole scenario attracted their interest.
We’ll see who’ll have the most attractive arguments to land him, although Milan remain hopeful of keeping the player, preferring to wait until the summer for him to sign his first deal with them, as it would then run until 2027 and not 2026.
