Barcelona goalkeeper Neto is only interested in a move to Arsenal if he is guaranteed playing time at the Emirates.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Gunners are yet to make such a guarantee to the Brazilian goalkeeper.
Reports in England this week claimed that Arsenal were keen on the Barça number two, with Mikel Arteta keen to reinforce their options and provide stern competition for Bernd Leno.
They’ve been less than impressed by the performances of Iceland keeper’ Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson, who arrived at the club in the summer to replace Emiliano Martinez.
They believe Neto could be an ideal option but Mundo state that he will not move to the Emirates without certain guarantees.
The goalkeeper only wants to leave Barcelona if he is guaranteed the number one spot, as he does not want to swap being a substitute at the Nou Camp to be one at the Emirates.
He would only accept a change if Arsenal are willing to guarantee he is going to compete with Leno for the number one spot.
That is something the Gunners are yet to offer him and have only promised him the opportunity to fight with the German for the position.
Thus, the two parties seem to be apart at this moment in time, with it also explained that the goalkeeper’s agent is yet to speak with the Premier League side about whether his client would be moving on loan or in a permanent transfer.
