Arsenal and Real Madrid are currently at an impasse over the permanent sale of Dani Ceballos.

The Spanish midfielder has been impressive since joining Arsenal on loan from Madrid this summer, despite the Gunners struggles.

It’s a move they want to make permanent and, if reports are to be believed, he’s keen on that happening as well.

Last week we covered claims he had met with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez to tell him that if Arsenal make a bid, he would like them to find an agreement.

That came from El Desmarque, and they update the story today, with the situation not looking good for Arsenal as it stands.

The website claims Arsenal have proposed a deal worth €30m to Real Madrid, but that is ‘insufficient’ as Pérez wants €35m.

The Madrid president is reluctant to let Ceballos go, but the midfielder knows that he doesn’t have a future at the club under Zinedine Zidane.

That gives Arsenal an advantage, although a potential change in manager could ‘complicate things’ for them.

Should José Mourinho return to the Bernabeu, he might want to use him, having watched the midfielder playing all season as part of his new role as a pundit.

Thus, talks about a potential move to Arsenal might have to wait until Christmas, when a change in coach in Madrid might ‘unlock’ the situation, something Arsenal will be praying doesn’t happen.
