Arsenal are interested in Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, according to claims from Germany.
The information is brought by Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says the Gunners are currently monitoring the 20-year-old and his situation at the Bundesliga side.
The report takes Arsenal’s interest calmly, first making it clear that there are no negotiations with Bayern Munich taking place yet.
Plettenberg also points out that Gravenberch would find big competition in the Gunners’ midfield, since Martin Odegaard, Grant Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Jorginho are all in the Arsenal squad.
Still, Gravenberch only has 702 minutes for Bayern Munich this season, and even with all those options at Arsenal, he could end up finding more playing time under Mikel Arteta.
According to Plettenberg, the decision on Gravenberch’s future will depend on Thomas Tuchel, who has just arrived at the Bundesliga side to replace Julian Nagelsman.
The midfielder is obviously well protected by Bayern Munich with a contract until 2027, since he joined the club last summer following an €18.5m move from Ajax.
He’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €30m, so Arsenal could show up as an interesting option for the German club to make a quick profit.
