This week, we’ve seen surprising news from Brazil claiming Arsenal were still hopeful of making the signing of Atlético Mineiro youngster Savinho.

Even though the City Group were, for a long time, said to be close to landing the 17-year-old, it was said the Gunners were following the situation and trying to make a convincing bid to win the competition for him.

However, it now seems like things haven’t worked out for Arsenal. Because according to Goal Brasil, the deal is done and Savinho was indeed bought by Manchester City’s owners.

It’s said the agreement was made for €6.5m, with another potential €6m in bonuses.

The big question had been where the youngster would move to, as he was unlikely to join Pep Guardiola’s side. Now Goal Brasil is sure that he’s joining French club Troyes this summer.

Despite showing big potential, Savinho had been struggling to get playing time at Atlético, only having 23 appearances for the club so far. Still, his skills were apparently enough to draw the interest from several European sides, including Arsenal.
