Marseille have been in contact with Arsenal over a move for midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, but it is a ‘complicated operation’ to get done.
That’s according to Telefoot Chaine, who back up claims that the Ligue 1 side are keen on the Arsenal outcast.
We covered a report from Foot Mercato earlier today that stated Marseille had been in touch with the Gunners about a move and had also contacted Guendouzi to ‘express’ their interest.
It was stated that the Ligue 1 side were keen on a loan move, but it wasn’t made clear how Arsenal would feel about such a proposal.
Telefoot now pick up on the story and back up the claim and say their sources have provided a ‘confirmation of contacts’ between Arsenal and Marseille about Guendouzi.
They go one further, though, stating that the whole potential operation is ‘very complicated’ because Marseille want a loan, but the Gunners are determined to sell the former PSG midfielder.

That suggests the two clubs have some work to do to try and get any potential deal done, while we’ve still not had any indication what Guendouzi thinks of it.
The obvious solution is a loan deal with a purchase obligation, although if Arsenal need the money now, then that is obviously something they’re not going to be too keen on.
