Earlier on Tuesday, we covered reports which claimed that Nuno Tavares is ‘destined to return’ to Arsenal from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
With the fullback struggling at the City Ground, it was claimed he should get back to the Gunners, who don’t really have a place for him in their squad either.
Now RMC Sport shares some news which could be the solution for all parties, as Olympique Marseille are said to be keen on having the Arsenal player again.
It’s said the Ligue 1 side have a ‘concrete interest’ in signing Tavares, who also ‘wants to return’ there, he spent the last season on loan.
RMC Sport points out that Tavares didn’t have the best of times at Marseille, but still left glimpses of his qualities, and the new system would ‘suit him perfectly’ for a ‘surprising’ move.
The Portuguese player is said not to be the club’s priority option, so this is an idea to be developed.
Still, that sounds like good news for Arsenal, who could find a good solution for an athlete they don’t really want.
