Arsenal man to undergo scan today – Team doctor confirms “pain in his right knee”

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus will undergo a scan today after complaining of a pain in his right knee in Brazil’s defeat to Cameroon.

That is according to team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, who provided details on the fitness of the team following the game last night.

Brazil took on Cameroon in their final Group G game last night, having already qualified for the knockout stages.

Manager Tite elected for a heavily rotated side as a result, with Jesus chosen to lead the line in a forward four that also featured Arsenal teammate Gabriel Martinelli, Rodrygo and Antony.

It proved to be a frustrating evening for them as they failed to take their chances and Cameroon scored a last gasp winner to secure a famous, albeit insignificant, victory.

Jesus was brought off in the 64^th minute, replaced by Flamengo striker Pedro, and Brazil’s team doctor has confirmed that was as a precautionary measure with the Arsenal man complaining of pain in his knee.

“Today we had two medical problems,” MSN report him saying.

“Alex Telles left the game complaining of pain in his right knee after a trauma, he has been assessed in the dressing room now and an MRI scan will be performed tomorrow to assess a little better.

“Similarly, Gabriel Jesus also complained of pain in his right knee, and we have already arranged for imaging that will be done tomorrow. After these tests we will give more details.”
