Loaned to Schalke 04 until the end of the season, Sead Kolasinac doesn’t have a space waiting for him at Arsenal should he return.

The Bosnian was sent to his former club with the hope he could help them stave off relegation, but that was a near impossible mission, as the once Champions League club are now headed towards 2.Bundesliga football.

It was reported on Friday morning that Schalke were ready to ‘fight’ to keep the Arsenal loanee at the club next season, but that could depend on many things.

Firstly, the finances in Kolasinac’s contract are too high for the German side to keep paying.

Secondly, the player’s will be important, as other options, like Lazio, could present themselves.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report on Friday that the Arsenal man is one of two players Igli Tare, the Italian side’s director football, is looking at for the left-back position.

They state ‘it’s not excluded’ that Kolasinac ‘will be able to get a free transfer’ this summer regardless of the fact his current deal ends in 2022, which would help Lazio tremendously.

Seen as ‘perfect’ for the 3-5-2 deployed by Simone Inzaghi on a regular basis, ‘his flexibility, as well as his experience convince’ the Italians.

One to keep an eye on, as Lazio would be an ideal alternative to Schalke, and it will all depend where Kolasinac’s heart lies come the end of the season.
