Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has hinted he fancies a permanent exit in the summer, insisting he is ‘incredibly comfortable’ at loan club Stuttgart.

The Greek centre back has spent the last two seasons on loan with the German club, first helping them secure promotion back to the Bundesliga last year before returning this summer for their first year back.

He’s a been a star for them after establishing himself in the team, with a series of impressive performances earning him praise this season in particular.

That has not gone unnoticed, with a report from German newspaper BILD today stating that he’s developing into an ‘absolute top defender’ and garnering attention from the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle and West Ham.

The power lies with Stuttgart, though, who were smart enough to negotiate a purchase clause worth €3m this summer as part of negotiations with Arsenal.

They could now get ten times that amount where they to sell in the summer, which is looking like a distinct possibility at this moment in time.

Mavropanos might have other plans, though, with the Arsenal man insisting he’s very happy where he is at this moment in time.

“I can assure all VfB fans that the feelings are mutual,” he told Goal.

“I feel a special connection with them and that means a lot to me. The support they show me, but above all the whole team, is great.

“That gives you a real boost on the field. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know that I feel incredibly comfortable at VfB.

“I’m really enjoying my time in Stuttgart, the environment is fantastic – of course I can imagine staying here for a long time.”
