Arsenal defender William Saliba is expected to be withdrawn from the France squad for the upcoming international break after picking up a back injury.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who say the defender’s injury suffered in the Europa League on Thursday is worse than first feared.
The centre-back was withdrawn from the clash with Sporting Club de Portugal after 21 minutes after picking up a back injury that he could not play through.
Further ‘examinations’ have revealed that the problem is worse than Arsenal would have initially though and the ‘news is not good’ on the extent of the problem.
Arsenal have already decided to leave him out of the group facing Crystal Palace on Sunday and he is ‘expected’ to be out of France’s squad for the upcoming international break as well.
That has not been decided completely as yet but that is the expectation, with France set to call up Axel Disasi or Jean-Clair Todibo as his replacement.
