As the Portuguese media continues to hype up the good season that Ousmane Diomande is having with Sporting, Arsenal are today named as one of the big contenders for his signing.
Newspaper A Bola today shares a story explaining that the centre-back is a ‘rare case’ in football, given his very quick rise with the Lions this season.
It’s said there are four clubs who have been making ‘constant observations’ in the past few months. Those are Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Juventus.
Diomande won’t be a cheap player, and is currently protected by an €80m release clause, with Sporting unlikely to make big discounts for his departure.
That’s why Arsenal seem to have a good advantage over their Premier League rivals, as they seem to be the one from that list that will be playing in the Champions League next season.
That brings extra finances, which hugely help with financial controls, and also helps attract the player.
A list from the CIES Football Observatory recently selected Diomande as one of the three most promising defenders in the world, and the Portuguese media is confident that his potential will result in a big transfer very soon.
