Back on July 21st, we relayed a story from Walfoot, who had spoken to Simon Mignolet’s agent about the Liverpool goalkeeper’s future.

At the time, Nico Vaesen stated the ‘next week would be decisive’, but fast forward 10+ days, and nothing has really happened.

Despite having offers, the Belgium international remains a Liverpool player, and while his exit isn’t a race against time (clubs outside of England have until August 31st to complete their business), the sooner he leaves, the better for all parties.

One of his possible destinations could be Napoli, who have him on their list of targets for a third goalkeeper to provide competition for Alex Meret and Orestis Karnezis, but both him and Ospina, another name on the list are ‘far from the Napoli parameters’.

We’re guessing that means their demands are too high for what the Italians are looking for.

Both Ospina and Mignolet have also been linked with a move to Besiktas, but it seems it’s the Arsenal man who holds the upper hand.
