Arsenal have ‘set their sights’ on Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho but are not the only Premier League side to do so, with Leicester City and Newcastle United also keen.
That’s according to Fichajes, who say the English trio are all eyeing up a potential move for the 30-year-old Portugal international.
They explain that Carvalho is the ‘key’ to unlocking Betis’ finances, with them interested in moving him on so they can gain an ‘important economic margin’ for new signings.
His future is very much ‘open again’ and Betis have already received numerous offers for the defensive midfielder, who has options to leave in January should he wish to.
He’s enjoying one of the best moments of his career and that has been noticed in the Premier League, where Arsenal, Leicester and Newcastle have ‘set their sights on signing him’.
Leicester have been linked with his signature regularly for the past few years, but Arsenal and Newcastle are new names in the recent mix.
There’s no mention of an asking price at this point, just that Betis are very much open to a sale to help ease their delicate financial situation and clean up the accounts.
