Arsenal are one of the many clubs in the hunt for Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande, according to reports today.
The information comes from Portugal, where newspaper O Jogo explains the battle that is expected for the centre-back this summer.
It all starts with the claims from Italy this week saying that Juventus are interested in taking the defender to the Serie A in the coming months, as they see him as a replacement for Bremer.
O Jogo says the Old Lady are not alone, though, as Arsenal are one of the clubs who have been ‘keeping tabs’ on Diomande for a while.
Sporting only spent €7.5m to sign the defender in January 2023, and have been resisting to much bigger offers lately.
They have him protected by a €80m release clause, and that’s how far a potential auction could get in the summer, as they seek to make a big profit from a sale.
Earlier today, we had already covered a piece from Record which talked about the competition for Diomande and them getting ahead, so Arsenal should be aware of that, knowing they’ll have to spend big to get the centre-back in Mikel Arteta’s squad next season.
