Arsenal ‘keep in touch’ with Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby about a potential move this summer, with the Gunners ‘among the favourites’ for his signature.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say Mikel Arteta’s side are still in the picture for the Frenchman as he gears up to depart in the summer.
Diaby has continued to be the star of the show for Leverkusen this season with impressive performances in the Bundesliga as well as the Europa League.
That has not gone unnoticed around Europe and several top sides are continuing to keep an eye on him, including Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of him.
They’ve been keen in the last few transfer windows but never got a deal over the line, with Leverkusen always resisting any interest in their prized asset.
The situation has now changed, though, as the German club accept, they will need to sell this year and Diaby pushes for a move.
That means there is a deal there to be done, albeit an expensive one as the Leverkusen look to make a fourfold profit on the €15m they paid to sign the Frenchman from Paris Saint Germain in July 2019.
Whether that’s a price Arsenal would be willing to pay isn’t mentioned, although given they already spent big on Leandro Trossard in January, and the Belgian has been a big success since his arrival, it seems unlikely they would.
They are, though, considering to be ‘among the favourites’ for the forward with it believed those in charge at the Emirates ‘keep in touch’ about a potential move.
