During the past month, even we’ve grown tired of covering every single time the Portuguese press linked Arsenal to Benfica winder Andrija Zivkovic.

Every time there was a story about the player, or the Gunners visited the Estádio da Luz, the interest would be mentioned again, with some insistence that Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the player.

Now as scouts from the London side watched Benfica playing Aves on Saturday, it was quite obvious that it would be reported again. But this time, there’s extra interesting information.

Correio da Manhã claims that besides Zivkovic, Arsenal also had an eye on Benfica’s 20-year-old defender Ruben Dias.

The newspaper claims the scouts probably were impressed with the ‘safe and impetuous’ display from the youngster, who even scored a goal.

They don’t have a verdict on what Arsenal could’ve thought of Zivkovic’s display. The 21 year old Serbian winger had a regular performance, creating chances, but also missed a sitter.

Both players have €60m release clauses, although the Portuguese press recently revealed that Zivkovic may be available for only €30m.
