Flamengo’s Reinier Jesus Carvalho, simply known as Reinier, is attracting interest from Arsenal, according to a claim from Italy.
Italian website Tutto Mercato Web reports Unai Emery’s side are ‘very interested’ in the youngster.
Attacking midfielder is the youngster’s preferred position, but he can also be deployed in the wide positions.
His versatility, coupled with his performances, has attracted the Gunners, which is why TWM state the Europa League runners up should ‘formalise an offer’ soon for the teenager.
It’s further explained Reinier is a highly ‘coveted’ player, but the report doesn’t mention any other clubs and also doesn’t specify the figure Arsenal are willing to offer.
Liverpool were linked with the player in April 2018, and then earlier this year Manchester City were brought into the picture.
Reinier turns 18 years of age in January and will then be able to move to Europe.
Even if Arsenal manage to agree a deal with the Brazilian club, they will have to wait until the next calendar year for Reinier to arrive at the club.
