Following the success that has been Eduardo Camavinga both at Rennes and at Real Madrid since his big transfer, it’s only natural for clubs to look at the Ligue 1 side and see who is next in line.

That man would be Lesley Ugochukwu, a young 17-year-old midfielder, who can already boast 17 appearances for the club’s first-team this summer, as well as interest from Arsenal.

The news comes from L’Equipe, who explain the Gunners ‘appreciate the profile’ of the young defensive midfielder, and ‘would like to sign him this summer’.

Turning 18 on Saturday, the youngster has been in the books of Arsenal ‘for several weeks’ and seem ‘more and more convinced’ by the idea of recruiting him.

For the Gunners, it’s stated they seem him as a ‘future Patrick Vieira’, and would be the ‘hottest’ on the case, even if competition, mostly from Tottenham, could convince him to go elsewhere.

We’ll have to wait and see about that, but it appears almost certain that Arsenal are going to give it a go in the coming weeks.
