Earlier this week, Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta opened the door for Christian Eriksen to leave the San Siro in the winter market, after admitting the playmaker is on the transfer list.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are two of the clubs credited with an interest in the 28-year-old.

According to Calciomercato, the Gunners and the Nerazzurri have held ‘discussions for several days’ for the Denmark international’s transfer in January.

However, the potential new development that could take place at Parc des Princes could leave Mikel Arteta’s side behind PSG in the race for the former Tottenham Hotspur star.

Multiple reports coming out of France on Thursday stated the Ligue 1 winners will sack Thomas Tuchel and appoint Mauricio Pochettino as his successor.

Eriksen played under the Argentine when the two were with Spurs, and Pochettino’s arrival in Paris could ‘dramatically change plans’ for Arsenal in their efforts to sign the attacking midfielder.

It could also open things up for a possible loan exchange deal involving Eriksen and Leandro Paredes.

However, it’s will be necessary to understand ‘how far Inter and Arsenal were ahead’ in negotiating the ex-Spurs man’s transfer, and also if Pochettino wants to take his former player, if he ends up at PSG.
