It seems rather unlikely that Arsenal will bolster their squad significantly in the ongoing January transfer window.
That has not stopped the Gunners from looking around at future targets and one name that has impressed them is Como’s Nico Paz.
TuttoSport, as relayed by InterNews24, have reported the Argentine talent has caught the attention of ‘half of Europe’ and this now includes Arsenal.
The Gunners have ‘set their sights’ on the 20-year-old, who has five goals and three assists in Serie A this season.
Arsenal sent a scout to watch Paz in action on Saturday, when Como took on Atalanta. The talent scored in a 2-1 defeat and he dazzled once again despite the loss, impressing the official from the London giants.
The report states that it’s worth keeping an eye on Arsenal when it comes to Paz’s situation, even if Inter Milan are leading the race for him right now.
The youngster’s former club Real Madrid have a buyback option for €12m, but Como are trying to remove that so that they have exclusive rights over Paz.
This move from the Italian side will allow the likes of Arsenal and Inter to enter the chase and make it easier for them to land the attacking midfielder in the future.
