In case Arsenal are actually interested in Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres, there are some interesting news coming from the Portuguese media today.
Newspaper O Jogo today writes about the striker’s fantastic form, as he has already scored 32 goals since joining the Lions, they talk a little about his future.
It’s claimed that even though Sporting did their best to hold him in January and used his €100m release clause as a protection, that is unlikely to happen in the summer.
The outlet writes there’s ‘room to negotiate’ this time, since the Lions will have to sell to make some cash at the end of the season.
Arsenal are named as one of the clubs who have been following Gyokeres, along with the likes of Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.
Now it remains to be seen who will make the best offer for the striker, because at this stage, it sounds obvious that Sporting won’t be short of bids for him in the summer.
The Portuguese club only spent €21m to sign him from Coventry City, and aside from the 32 goals, he also has 11 assists in his 35 appearances so far.
That sounds like quite a great opportunity for Arsenal, who now need to get prepared for the big battle for him if they are indeed keen on getting the Swede.
