AC Milan are not going forward with their chase for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, according to reports from Italy.
Milan News today writes that despite the recent links, this track ‘has been set aside’ by the Rossoneri.
The reason for it is that after ‘a long negotiation’, Nelson ‘decided not to accept’ the move to the Serie A side.
The report also brings interesting news regarding the 23-year-old’s future at Arsenal, claiming that ‘in all likelihood’, he’ll be renewing his contract with the Gunners.
Nelson is a product of the club’s academy, and last season, he had three goals and three assists in 18 appearances for the Gunners, albeit with most coming from the bench.
The winger had just returned from a loan at Feyenoord, and managed to convince Mikel Arteta he could be useful in the squad.
His contract with Arsenal expires in a few days, and according to reports from Italy, Milan had made him a contract offer, willing to pay him €3.5m per season.
Now it seems he wasn’t tempted by that, and will continue fighting for his place in the Gunners’ squad.
