Arsenal have been linked with William Saliba for some months now.
The Gunners are one of a number of clubs who have been sending scouts to keep an eye on the Saint-Etienne defender, and it’s been repeatedly stated they like what they’ve seen from the 18 year old.
On Wednesday, Le10 Sport report Arsenal have ‘moved their pawns’ over a deal to sign the youngster, and things are ‘progressing well’ on the transfer front.
The Ligue club want a €30m, but they’ve got another condition. As has also been stated before, ASSE want whoever buys Saliba to loan him back for next season.
That would surely be a tough condition for Arsenal to meet if they’re going to be spending €30m on a player, especially when it’s considered they’ve got a limited transfer budget this summer.
Manchester United are ‘positioned’, but Unai Emery’s side are the ones ‘most pressing’. Le10 say talks are ongoing, and it’s possible the transfer could be ‘finalised in the coming weeks’.
