Arsenal may have been handed their chance to get Kai Havertz from Chelsea, with Bayern Munich unlikely to move for him unless other forward options fail to materialise.
That’s according to BILD, who say there will be no move from Bayern for the Chelsea star unless they can’t get deals for the likes of Randal Kolo Muani, Victor Osimhen or Dusan Vlahovic through the door.
Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for Havertz for some time, having admired him before his move to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen.
They’re on the hunt for a forward player this summer after failing to replace Robert Lewandowski following his move to Barcelona last summer.
BILD say that is unlikely to happen any time soon as they are simply ‘monitoring Havertz’s situation’ at Chelsea at this moment in time, leaving Arsenal free to get him.
They explain that while Thomas Tuchel knows and appreciates the player from his time at Chelsea and they both get along well, a transfer is ‘currently not hot’.
That’s because Bayern already have numerous options in Havertz’s position, and they are instead focused on finding a ‘superstar striker’ than adding elsewhere. Havertz would only be signed as an ‘alternative’ if a player cannot be secured in that position.
That’s excellent news for Arsenal, who are ‘currently ahead’ in the race for the player’s signature as Bayern aren’t really involved in the race or in contact with the player either.
That backs a report from earlier today that stated they are ‘very confident’ of getting a deal over the line for the Chelsea man and that talks are at an ‘advanced stage’.
