Back in December, we covered Goal Brasil reporting that Arsenal target Estevão Willian had agreed to his first professional contract with Palmeiras.
Since the youngster was only 15-years-of-age, it was claimed the deal would only be signed on the 24th of April, when he’d turn 16.
And it turns out Goal Brasil is back to confirm their report, claiming Estevão Willian, who’s better known as Messinho, now has a contract until 2026.
The big news about the contract is that it includes a €50m release clause. Palmeiras wanted it to be the same as Endrick’s, whose price was €60m before he was sold to Real Madrid, but Messinho’s staff were against that.
And months later, Arsenal continue to be mentioned as one of the contenders for the signing. It’s claimed that the Gunners, as well as Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain, still monitor his situation.
Messinho is still to make his debut for Palmeiras’ first team, but now with the new contract signed, he’s more likely to do it soon.
He may be too young to move to Europe immediately, but since he raises more expectations than Endrick, Arsenal better be aware of how quick this battle can be.
