Two weeks ago, we covered news about Arsenal’s interest in Victor Osimhen as it was claimed they’ll soon make an approach for the Napoli striker. It appears as though the Gunners might have now come forward for the Nigerian.
Osimhen is not close to sealing an exit from Napoli and his future hangs in the balance. He has a hefty release clause which is unlikely to be matched.
Corriere dello Sport have reported today that Paris Saint-Germain believe Napoli’s asking price for the striker is excessive and this has led to the inclusion of Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side have, it is stated, ‘returned’ to the chase for Osimhen.
They have asked for information about signing player and there seems to be some amount of interest, even though Sporting’s Viktor Gyökeres is also an option.
There is still said to be interest from Chelsea and Osimhen has ‘always dreamed’ of playing in England. It remains to be seen if Arsenal make any formal moves or if the situation remains as it is now.
What may work in Arsenal’s favour is that multiple Italian reports have made it clear Napoli need to be realistic with their asking price, and that it’s near certain they won’t be getting €100m+ for him.
