Arsenal are reportedly one of the clubs who’ve been in touch for the signing of Santos wonderkid Kaio Jorge.
A story from Calcio Mercato says the Gunners have contacted the player’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci for a potential move.
Kaio Jorge’s contract with the Brazilian side expires in December, and the club are having a hard time convincing him to sign a renewal.
Even though sides such as Inter Milan and Juventus were said to have a deal for a pre-agreement, the outlet denies the claims, saying the race for his signing is open. The likes of Ajax and Shakhtar Donetsk are said to be in there as well.
By being in touch with Giuliano Bertolucci, Arsenal are probably on friendly ground. The agent, who is a partner of Kia Joorabchian, also represents the likes of David Luiz and Willian.
Santos already admitted the difficulties in giving Kaio Jorge an extension, even though the negotiations are ongoing, so his future is quite unpredictable for now.
Following Gabriel Martinelli’s many chances at the Gunners, perhaps that’s a factor which could convince another Brazilian youngster to take the same path.
