Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar has flown to Warsaw in the last few hours to complete a deal for Mykhailo Mudryk.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say the Brazilian will meet with Shakhtar Donetsk as that is where they are currently based.
Mudryk is Arsenal’s main target for this window, and they have been pushing to get a deal over the line for weeks.
Several reports in England have made it clear that a deal is getting closer, with the two clubs negotiating and Arsenal getting closer to the figure that Shakhtar want for their star man.
TMW back that up, stating that Edu has flown to Warsaw in the ‘past few hours’ with the intention of closing the transfer.
According to their information there has been a ‘significant improvement’ in their offer for the Ukrainian star, although there is still a distance between the two clubs.
That is something the Arsenal sporting director seemingly believes he can sort out face to face and thus has flown to Poland, where Shakhtar are currently based, to do so.
Whether the trip is a successful one remains to be seen but the Gunners chief is ramping up his efforts to get a deal done.
