Christopher Nkunku was much wanted by Arsenal during the winter transfer window, but the Gunners never managed to agree a deal with PSG.

Short of cash for signings, they were looking for loans, and that didn’t really suit the French club, not enticing enough for them to deprive themselves of the player during the January market.

As that window closed, L’Equipe reported Unai Emery’s club had ‘really wanted’ the midfielder, but efforts on a loan with option to buy were ‘too complicated’ for PSG.

Now the Ligue 1 champions are looking for sales, and Nkunku is on the exit list.

Today’s edition of L’Equipe details the ‘important offer’ from Arsenal which came during the winter window, reiterating it was a loan with purchase option.

The player has now asked to leave, and PSG are ready to let him go for €15m.

If the Premier League club were so keen a few months ago, it makes sense they would be again (scouting trips would back that up) and the French newspaper say Nkunku is available if someone hits that figure.

Arsenal could face competition from RB Leipzig.
