On Thursday, a report from England explained Arsenal have identified Eintracht Frankfurt’s Djibril Sow as a target for the next window.
This is relayed by Sport1, who then provide their own information on the Bundesliga side’s stance on the midfielder’s transfer. They also spoke to his agent over a potential move.
It’s claimed Eintracht Frankfurt won’t put obstacles in the way of the Arsenal target leaving the club after this season.
His contract expires in 2024 and the German club’s sporting director, Markus Krösche, has failed to extend his deal. That’s because the 26-year-old is looking for a new challenge and Sow’s employer want to avoid losing him for free next year.
Nottingham Forest failed to secure Sow’s services last summer as he was keen to play in the Champions League with Eintracht Frankfurt. His agent, Jose Nogueira Rodriguez, has now opened the door for a transfer.
“There were always options for Djibril Sow. A year ago, there was a very specific offer. He could have left the club. But the player wanted to take the Champions League with the great club Eintracht Frankfurt,” Sow’s agent told Sport1.
“However, Markus Krösche was always informed that with an offer that suits the player and the club, you can imagine changing in the summer of 2023.”
With Eintracht Frankfurt and Sow willing to do business, Arsenal could be in a position to seal the deal for a lower price in the next window.
