As Arsenal continue to struggle to get a deal for Declan Rice over the line, it appears the Gunners are now seriously considering alternatives.
The arrival of other Premier League clubs on the scene have made a move for the England international a bit more complicated, and that’s why Nicolò Barella is now on their radar.
That’s according to FC Inter News, who explain that after recent attempts from Newcastle, Inter Milan are expecting two more bids for their star, with one being from Arsenal.
The outlet state the Serie A side should ‘receive two very important offers’ from the Premier League clubs, with the red side of Manchester also keen.
It’s said both clubs have ‘knocked on the door’ of both Inter and Barella’s agent, ‘announcing the next moves’.
Having allegedly turned down €70m from Tyneside, ‘it would be necessary to go much further’ to get Inter at a negotiation table.
What Arsenal are planning to put on the table is ‘not yet clear’, but the assumption is that having already put €100m on the table for Rice, ‘it’s logical to hypothesise’ that their budget for Barella would be very similar if they turn their attention to the Champions League finalist.
Right now, no move has been made, but it’s believed that ‘just to sit down at the table, the proposal must be indecent’.
