Last summer, FC Porto signed Fábio Vieira from Arsenal on loan without any option to buy.

The attacking midfielder has managed three goals and four assists from 29 matches this season and has to return to the Emirates in the summer.

The front page of today’s edition of O Jogo states Arsenal are ‘attentive to the growth’ of the 24-year-old.

They state Arsenal sent an official to the Estádio do Dragão to watch their loan player in action against AS Roma on February 13th.

Vieira joined the Gunners from the Portuguese club in June 2022 and didn’t manage to cement a place under Mikel Arteta. Arsenal sent him on loan so that he can feature regularly this season.

Over the past two seasons, the Portugal international played 1,883 minutes for Arsenal and clocked in 1,615 minutes for Porto this season.

He can surpass the overall total easily. The outlet claims this ‘leaves Arsenal rubbing their hands’ because Vieira will return to the north London club in the summer.

O Jogo explain Arsenal have been monitoring Vieira regularly and there could be another reason for their official’s frequent trips to Porto.

Recent claims in the UK have talked about Arsenal’s interest in Porto’s Rodrigo Mora. The newspaper relays that and then states Moro could be the reason for their ‘increased interest in the visits’ to Portugal.

Mora, who will turn 18 years of age in May, managed three goals and three assists this season. The forward could be an option for the English club in the summer window, but there doesn’t appear to be anything concrete yet.
