Arsenal and Manchester City are in the picture to sign Feyenoord’s Givairo Read.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who claim interest is growing in the right-back.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are named as interested parties.
The Dutch club initially signed the 19-year-old for their academy in 2023 and promoted him to the first team later that year.
He made 47 appearances, managing four goals and 11 assists, and has been a regular since last season. His impressive performances for the Eredivisie side have seen a few top European clubs take notice.
The report states scouts from Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have closely followed the Netherlands U21 international.
In April, the fullback signed a new contract until 2029 and Transfermarkt currently value him at €20m. He’s aware his fine displays for Feyenoord are bound to attract the attention of other clubs.
Despite the growing interest, the Dutchman remains focused on his task in hand.
“But it doesn’t distract me, you know. I’m comfortable at Feyenoord, and my development here is the only thing on my mind,” he said, quoted by De Telegraaf.
The Bayern Munich links are also being joked within the Feyenoord dressing room.
“Yeah, yeah, jokes are being made. Suddenly they’re going to start speaking German to me and stuff. But that’s nice to see,” Read explained.
Givairo Read wouldn’t be able to get regular minutes immediately if he joined Arsenal or Manchester City.
Arsenal have the right-back position covered by Jurriën Timber and Ben White, while Pep Guardiola currently has Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes for the right side of defence.
