Arsenal and Chelsea are in the race to sign VfB Stuttgart star Serhou Guirassy, according to Bild.
The Premier League duo have been credited with interest in a few strikers and the 28-year-old is added to their list. He finished the recently concluded season with 30 goals and two assists from 30 matches.
It’s claimed Guirassy can leave the Bundesliga side for a ‘bargain price’ of €18-20m this summer.
These factors make him an attractive option in the market, and Bild say he’s ‘in demand’. They add Arsenal, Chelsea, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are the four clubs keen on securing the Guinea international’s services.
Bayern Munich have looked at the Stuttgart star, but they no longer seem to be an option for him because Harry Kane is their first-choice striker. Guirassy, on the other hand, could become the main striker at BVB.
Dortmund are in a four-way battle with Arsenal, Chelsea and Milan to sign the frontman.
The report says Guirassy is unlikely to stay even though he and his family are happy in Stuttgart. He earns €3m per year and his salary would increase if he were to join the Gunners or the Blues.
Guirassy wants to have clarity over his future before the end of June. Arsenal, Chelsea and two other clubs are fighting to secure a ‘bargain’ deal, and it needs to be seen who will win the battle in the end.
