Arsenal have emerged as a surprise candidate for Fiorentina’s Dušan Vlahović, according to reports from Italy.

The striker’s current deal expires in 2023 and earlier this week, the Serie A side’s chief, Rocco Commisso, revealed the player has decided not to renew his contract.

Since then, the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, who looked at the 21-year-old in the summer, have been pushed forward as candidates. The Gunners are now dragged into the picture by La Stampa, as relayed by Milan News.

The newspaper states Fiorentina will look to cut ties with the star after the end of this season and will evaluate every offer they receive for him.

It’s said there will certainly be a proposal from Juventus, who have been following the Serbia international for ‘some time’.

Inter Milan could look to sign the frontman, if Lautaro Martinez were to leave the San Siro. Their local rivals, AC Milan, can entrust Vlahović to lead their strike force next season.

After naming three Serie A sides as possible candidates to take the striker, Mikel Arteta’s side get a mention. From abroad, La Stampa state, Arsenal have ‘already moved’ for Vlahović.

Arsenal will have a huge task on their hands, if they want to get ahead of several title winning sides and other major European clubs to sign Vlahović.
